A LOW-COST DEVICE WITH HIGH-ACCURACY OUTPUT

Researchers from the University of Victoria were able to quantify ERP components such as the N200, P300, and reward positivity, with the data recorded from the Muse, effectively validating the MUSE EEG system for conducting ERP Research and unlocking biomarkers of brain health. Additionally, they show that the EEG setup and collection using Muse was accomplished in under 10 minutes.

They compare this to the Brain Vision ActiChamp system whose setup took on average 35 minutes and which cost $75,000.

EXPERT-LEVEL SLEEP MACRO & MICRO EVENTS

It captures EEG sleep metrics and stages sleep as accurately as a sleep lab, all from the comfort of the participant’s bed. Each night, the Muse band records full-spectrum EEG, PPG, and accelerometer/gyroscope data (SpO2 data coming Fall 2024).

Muse captures both macro and micro sleep architecture, including sleep spindles, K complexes, and slow waves. Muse’s automated sleep scoring achieved expert-level staging, with a Cohen’s Kappa of 0.76.
